Famed author Robert Stone lived here with his wife Janice when he wrote “Hall of Mirrors” in 1960. The book was later turned into a Hollywood movie called WUSA. Saint Philip Residence is the true flavor of New Orleans and has a very colorful past. In the 1940's it was a brothel run by one of New Orleans most notorious madams. The very large gallery balconies overlooking St Philip street and surrounding streets are mesmerizing and a great place for morning coffee or sipping wine in the evening, not to mention people watching as there are always events, parades, and interesting people passing by.
